We need you!

The real work of our Vestry should be done in committees. A committee brings the voice of the congregation to the vestry and provides transparency to church business.

A committee is supposed to a complete certain tasks, but a committee also serves a valuable function in bringing people together and giving them a role in the life of the Saint Mary's. Every committee should include in its membership, individuals who have recently joined Saint Mary's or who have not previously served in any active way.

Committee members will gain a far deeper understanding of the life of the parish than they can ever gain by reading the Saint Mary's Star or listening to the announcement on Sunday morning. Additionally, each informed person will inevitably, share that information with others in a ripple effect the value of which is beyond measure.

We are currently in the process of forming a Finance Committee. As the end of the first quarter of the year has ended, we need to have our Finance Committee review the quarter and assure that a satisfactory accounting is made of all receipts and disbursements of funds. Additionally, with our Capital Campaign they will provide a review process independent of the Vestry of funds and expenditures.

If you would like to volunteer for the finance committee please contact Cherisse in the Church Office, or contact me directly. Additionally a sign-up sheet will be posted in Farnsworth Hall.
