Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County

The Interfaith Hospitality Network
of Ocean County, part of the national network Family
Promise, provides families with temporary
shelter in churches until they can find and/or afford
permanent housing. Four times a year, St. Mary’s
offers one week of housing to IHN families. Many enthusiastic
members of our congregation provide supplies, funds,
dinners, and overnight hospitality to our guests.
Each family is allowed to remain in the program for
three months, giving them time to save for the requisite
first month’s rent and security deposit for
housing of their own. The Interfaith Hospitality Network
also provides budgeting and other financial management
skills, socialization skills, and homework help for
the children of families in the program.
